As a resident of Springfield Township, it is unconcievable to believe a town so small as this has an ordiance in place to destroy the very day lives of those who keep Springfield going. Today Sunday 18th 2011, I was informed that the Township commtiee is going to sign an ordiance into place that prevents vehicles from being parked outside resident homes. There is one exception, once a month a resident can call to have a vehicle parked outside. With the high taxes home owners pay in this township we should be able to have the wiill of choosing to park our vehicles outside, since inactuality we own these roads. We are the tax payers feeding money into the township. We therefore, reserve the right. Anyone who feels the same way, please follow with a response. This ordinance cannot be passed, there needs to be a collective agreement between residents, to prevent the commitee from passing this ordinance. Remember, we pay every quater but the benefits recieved are minimal. Lets not allow Springfield board to take another freedom away from us.

An ordinance to prevent residents from parking out side your own home........I've never heard of anything so stupid, What next? Your children can't park their bicycles on the sidewalk, in front of their home?? Don't let the Township pass this!

You are aware that there is currently a law prohibiting automobiles from parking on streets in the Township from 2:00 am to 6:00 am.
What you heard and what you are saying makes no sense whatsoever. It is impossible for the Township to create a law prohibiting parking outside of resident's homes. Think about it for a minute - it doesn't make any sense.
Rather than post something so bizzare, you should call the Township administrator and get more specific information.

Hi Marisa,
I looked into this, and it seems that there was some confusion. There is no such ordinance pending. However, there are some areas of towns with parking and regulations. Yes I am aware of the regulation Philly, but even if it is not pending now it is going to happen sooner or later. I will not include any name but Springfield Police Dept. is fully aware of the ideas that have been mention regarding parking regulation, Anyway Philly, its still outstanding how you feel there is no issue with this 2-6 restriction. We should in fact be able to park at any time of day in front of our homes.
Adam Bulger, thank you for looking into it, and it hasn't been enforced but I am sure by the end of the year this will be a topic of discussion. Don't think the town has ruled it out, it is an easy way of bringing money into Springfield.
