Catholic Schools Week Celebrations at Saint James the Apostle School
School puts special features on display for prospective students.
On Sunday, Jan, 27, 2013, Saint James the Apostle School in Springfield begins its Catholic Schools Week celebrations with Mass at noon followed by an Open House from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
During Catholic Schools Week, Catholic schools showcase the educational experience they provide while celebrating their identity as students, faculty, staff, administration and parents. This year’s theme for Catholic School Week is Catholic Schools Raise the Standards.
Catholic Schools Week at Saint James will feature fun-filled, education-oriented activities.
This year, events include a presentation by the Miller-Cory Museum, sandwich and meatloaf making for the needy, a school-wide spelling bee, Minute-to-Win-It Challenge, the making of sacrifice (good deed) beads, and the presentation of Living Biographies by the seventh Grade. Events are planned and organized by faculty and staff. The Home School Association is sponsoring their Scholastic Book Fair during the week and caps off the celebration with a Teacher Appreciation Lunch on Friday.
Saint James the Apostle, a Middle States Accredited School, offers a wide range of academic programs, state of the art technology and enrichment classes, as well as a host of academic and athletic clubs.
The school provides full and half-day Pre-K and full day Kindergarten along with Before and After Care Programs. Registrations are now being accepted for Pre-K3 through Eighth Grade.
