Dayton Bowling is on a Roll

Off to its best start ever at 8-0; faces second-place Rahway on Wednesday for second time in three days

The Dayton Bowling team is off to its best start ever. Dayton (8-0) has recorded six 7-0 victories and is currently atop the Union County B Conference with 52 points, 10 points ahead of second place Rahway.

Other teams in the B Conference include: Cranford, Elizabeth, Governor Livingston, Rahway, Roselle Park and Union Catholic.

Monday, Dayton defeated Rahway, 5-2, in a positional round match and will face Rahway again on Wednesday.

"The team is doing great," said Dayton head coach Felix Fabiano. "We have five returning varsity bowlers and everyone of them has shown improvement from last year."

Senior captain Tom Losito leads the team with an average of 196, followed by junior Chris Masucci at 192.

Seniors Dillon Reiss and Ben Hersh have averages of 191 and 183 respectively. Junior Robert Dobler, sophomore Armando Salvadore and senior Brian DiFiore have all contributed and have each averaged over 140 or better.

Looking ahead, Dayton will participate in the Union County Tournament on Monday, Jan. 23 and will bowl in their sectional tournament on Saturday, Feb. 11 at Jersey Lanes in Linden.
