First Aid Squad to Hold Pancake Breakfast
Event marks National Emergency Medical Services Week.
A pancake breakfast to recognize and honor the Volunteer First Aid Squad members and kick off National Emergency Medical Services Week, will be held in front of the Springfield First Aid Squad House, 10 North Trivett Avenue, off of Mountain Avenue, in front of the Springfield Town Hall, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 20.
“Everyone is welcome to attend the pancake breakfast,” said President Elizabeth J. Fritzen.
“All are welcome as we gather to recognize the commitment and hard work of the men and women of the Volunteer First Aid Squad,” said senior member Gloria Simpson. “We are blessed to be able to give back to those who give so much of themselves here in town.”
“I agree a meal is always great, but fellowship with people from the community is always a high priority for us here at the Springfield Volunteer First Aid Squad,” said Fred Ostry.
The First Aid Squad is working with religious leaders to make this event kosher.
As of this time, Seabra Supermarket located at 215 Morris Avenue, Springfield, as well as Shop Rite Supermarket located at 727 Morris Avenue, Springfield have offered to provided the pancake batter and other breakfast items at no cost. The suggested donations are $5 for adults and $3 for children.
