Nothing says 'spring' like free Italian ice. Dozens of people lined up outside Rita's in Rahway, on the Clark border, to claim their free cup of ice, as part of the store annual first day of spring promotion.

Last year during the promotion, the Rita’s chain gave away more than a million cups of ice.
The company is also encouraging customers to tag photos of their Italian ice as #ritasfirstdayofspring on Twitter and Instagram for a chance to win a year of free ice and other prizes.
