JCP&L: Over 200 Springfield Homes Without Power on Monday Afternoon

Weather has impacted power for customers in Springfield and surrounding towns.

On early Monday afternoon, the JCP&L power outage map says that 200 customers of the power company in Springfield have reported loss of power. In addition, 109 customers in Millburn and 145 customers in Summit have likewise lost power.

According to a storm update on JCP&L's site, torrential rain, high winds and the threat of excessive flooding could result in power outages lasting up to seven to 10 days. They urge customers who lose power to use the "report outage" function on their page, or to call 888-544-4877 to report your outage.

The power company outlined their emergency preparation efforts on the site, saying that 1,400 line workers , including crews from as far away as Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan and Ohio, and 1,200 forestry contractors, are working to restore power.

UPDATE: at 3 p.m., the outage map says 263 customers have lost power.

Are you kidding about 200 JCP&L customers in Springfield were out of power as of Monday afternoon? ALL of Troy VIllage had no power- we are 300+ apartments.
Maybe they should add up the accounts again.
