There are still over 2,500 households in Springfield without power (the highest # in all of Union County). Every surrounding town in Union County has drastically decreased this number in the past week. Residents should really question where their taxes are going. Summit, New Providence & Berkeley Heights all have had significant amounts of power restored. Springfield is a complete joke. It is left unnoticed every time without fail. That should tell everyone something.

Waht is the status of Troy Village? half of the complex has power, half does not, when will everyone be restored. it's been almost two weeks. This is unnacceptable

It is unacceptable. Mayor Shehady has not been proactive as Millburn's mayor. The high taxes that residents pay clearly go to nothing. The downtown area is completely run down and the town is always LAST to get its power restored. As for Short Hills Club Village - I would NOT recommend anyone rent there. The landlord is a slumlord as far as I am concerned. For the amount of rent you're paying, you are better off in Summit or Chatham.

What about Hillside Ave

Do these people making negative comments actually believe the utility workers are sitting on their behinds doing nothing. These nay sayers in all likely hood have no idea how the power gride functions and their only knowlege of the system is when they flip their light switch to the on position. These guys, many from out of state, are working 16 hour shifts to restore power. Somebody is always first and somebody is always last. It would be more constructive if one would say thank you for coming to our aid when you see these workers.

It's obama's fault.

I work in Newark and FYI, the power was not fully restored in 24 hours. Schools were closed until Wednesday and some have been relocated due to power issues. Power was just restored to certain areas especially to those near the airport. Newspapers and tv do tend to sensationalize things and in this case Mayor Booker cones out looking like a hero.

We got power last night and lost much, TV doesn't work, home phone, freezer and refrig now empty... but I am grateful to the people who finally got to our power and turned it on here in Springfield. I saw the town light up, and never even noticed how beautiful that was before! THE PEOPLE WHO HELPED US AT AMBULANCE CORP. AND CHISIM CENTER ARE ANGELS! I got ice from them and a place to charge my cell etc. I am so grateful! The people at the Chisim center *(old YWCA) couldn't have been more nice or helpful! While charging my cell, I met the Mayor (a thrill!) and saw them serving people dinners and drinks etc. I have a gas oven so I didn't need that, but boy, how nice and how wonderful these people are to help! I well up thinking of how nice it was to meet some of my neighbors and how we all pulled together.

I pray that everyone gets power very soon. It was awful without it for sure! I was so cold I could see my breath! Wishing this warm weather is as good for you're souls as it was for mine! God bless everyone who has such a warm heart to help others in Springfield. I am changed for the better because of it!

Got power, then lost it again on Wednesday afternoon due to a blown fuse or transformer when we heard a pop. Still without power, almost 2 full weeks, on our little one-way street, Cottage Lane. Alone and forgotten by JCP&L as we see lights on all around us on Milltown, Gaudineer, Meisel. As soon as the elections were over, Shehady slowed down his advocacy. I would encourage all those disappointed and angry withe the antiquated power company to stop paying their bills for a while and interrupt their cash flow. It really is the only way to affect their bottom line. But it should be the whole town. They are not allowed to just turn off power without giving several notices first, so no need to worry. Revenge is a dish best served cold- which is what I am!
