Yo Addiction is Springfield's Newest Cold Treat Shop

Family-owned frozen yogurt shop has been open throughout hot summer.

Since opening in June, Yo Addiction has offered cool and unique flavor for Springfield and Union County residents.

While they are part of a growing trend of serve-yourself yogurt shops in the northeast, the owners of Yo Addicton said they were unique for the area. But they emphasized that they were unique among their competitors for offering more flavor and style.

“We have twice the toppings of every other store and more flavors,” Yo Addiction co-owner Paul Marzarella said. He added that in addition to the topping surplus, he and his co-owners—family members all—had discovered a way to put flavors under frozen yogurt as well, and have a “bottoms” dispenser in addition to the toppings. “You can put things on before you even hit yogurt and get a nice cake crust.”

Marzarella said that customer experience was as much a consideration as the food. The décor, bright and designed with modern curves and long couches, is designed to invite lounging. His crew—including his two neices Gina and Angela Delguercio—are encouraged to greet customers.

“I’m very high on employee/customer interaction,” Marzarella said.

So far the approach seems to be working.

“We think Springfield was crying out for us,” Marzarella said.

Yo Addicton is located at 100 Route 22 (Middle Isle).
