If you're seeing red today, it's for a good reason.

Today, Springfield students and school faculty members are wearing the color to honor the memory of Enrique Camarena, Drug Enforcement Agent who died in 1985 at the hands of Mexican drug trafickers. Posthumously, Camarena received the Administrator's Award of Honor. Red Ribbon Week, an annual series of anti-drug and pro-community events, was established in his name.

Jonathan Dayton High School's Alternatives Club, a group dedicated to finding alternative social activities to drugs and alcohol, attended Springfield's Township Committee meeting to see officials proclaim Red Ribbon Week for Springfield.
