Springfield Police charged a number of drivers with automobile violations in the last week of April. In several cases, multiple charges were made.

At about 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, Springfield police stopped Dwight Reid, 24, of Summit, for allegedly speeding on Shunpike road. Police say he had an open alcoholic beverage in his car, and had an outstanding warrant for failure to make a court appearance for prior traffic offenses.

Shortly before 9 p.m. that same day, Roberto Reyes was pulled over by Springfield police for allegedly speeding on South Springfield Ave. The 24-year-old Maplewood resident was found to have active warrants for failing to appear in Maplewood Municipal court for traffic offenses.

On Wednesday, April 28, a Springfield police officer stopped 19-year-old Edison resident David Diaz for a motor vehicle violation. Upon investigation, Police reportedly found that Diaz's car was unregistered and uninsured and that Diaz himself was under the influence of alcohol.
