The Guadineer lot was filled with upbeat Springfield residents on Friday, Nov. 3, eager to leave their powerless homes for a community event.

Municipal employees and volunteers offered information and supplies. While residents were concerned about the lack of gas and power, many went out of their way to express optimism and gratitude for help from their communities.

I am so grateful to the Patch. I live an hour south, and can't get information on my school district any other way!
