Reorganization Brings New Leadership for Springfield

On Jan. 1, Union County Clerk Joanne Rajoppi swore in newly elected officials to Springfield's Township Committee. Democrats David Barnett and Margaret Bandrowski were sworn onto the Committee, joining veteran Democratic Committee members Dave Amlen and Rich Huber who became Springfield's new Mayor and Deputy Mayor, respectively. 

Springfield Posts New Recycling Collection Rules 

After voting for a new service provider and refuse collection schedule late last year, Springfield implemented a new recycling collection schedule at the beginning of 2013. In addition to the new schedule, Springfield changed to a "single stream" recycling sorting method where residents no longer have to separate recyling materials.
