This week around our towns,we have walks and hikes for the adventurous, electronic recycling opportunities for the fastidious, or some treasures for bargain hunters.
Greater Union County Heart Walk - Nomahegan Park, Clark. Join the 2012 Greater Union HEART WALK for its 20th year. This walk offers the opportunity to sponsor and/or form your own fund-raising teams to help support the lifesaving mission of the AHA. For more information, visit www.unionheartwalk.org. Cranford Centennial Village Group 5K. The Cranford Centennial Village continues fund-raising with a 5K today. The walk will begin at 8:30am and the course is flat. There will be T-Shirts and a Post Race Taste by Toute Heure, www.atouteheure.com. Cranford, Sunday, 8:30am, $25

Free Computer Recycling drop off in Clark. There will be a free computer recycling today. All proceeds will help provide Scholarships for local HS students. It’s a great way to get rid of those old clunkers sitting around. Clark, Friday, 10 a.m., Free
Oak Ridge Park Hosts Bark Now Walk for Autism Speaks. The Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders encourages families and their furry friends to enjoy a day outdoors in support of autism awareness by participating in the North/Central NJ Bark Now walk for Autism Speaks on Saturday, June 2, at Oak Ridge Park in Clark. A Tour of Notable Homes. Five distinguished residences will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to benefit the Westfield Symphony Orchestra including a prime hill-top property in Summit and four distinguished Westfield residences representing a range of architectural influences and design sensibilities. 2012 Jr. Dawgs Football Registration. The Springfield Recreation is holding their 2012 Jr. Dawgs Football Registration. This event will take place today, Saturday, June 2, 2012 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Chisholm Community Center, 100 S Springfield Ave, Springfield. Jr. Dawgs is for children in grades 3-8 (2012-13 School Year). Season Runs September – November – Practice begins week of August 13, 2012. Practices 2 or 3 nights per week depending on age/coaches. National Trails Day - Trailside Nature & Science Center. Trailside Nature & Science Center is hosting National Trails Day. Trail users across the country will be celebrating and so can you.
