Township Committee Meets Tonight

Meeting will include Sandy recognitions.

This month, Springfield's Township Committee meeting schedule has been shifted. Instead of meeting on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month as they usually do, the committee meets on the first and the third Tuesdays.

The meeting starts with recognition of members of the community who went above and beyond to help fellow residents cope with Tropical Storm Sandy.

According to an announcement on the township website, municipal employees, residents, students, teachers, members of civic and community organizations, and houses of worship and local businesses will be honored. The full list is here

Since i was unable to attend the meeting, i was wondering if it was discussed on when all the street debris are going to be collected. Some of the streets are getting out of hand and there is going to be an accident, espically on Tooker where there is a POD storage unit on it now.

Great question MJ. What did the township do with the $140,000 grant to hire 9 people to clean up this mess? I was told that the DPW was hanging holiday lights and Snowflakes instead, but this is probably just an opinion.
