Your Week Ahead: Government Meetings, Library Week and More...

A look at the notable goings on in the days ahead.

 

Monday

Springfield public schools are closed all week for Spring Break.

Springfield Seniors hold their President’s meeting at 10:30 a.m. at the Sarah Bailey Civic Center. 

The Springfield Library is celebrating national library week with daily special events for library patrons of all ages.Today, Nutley native Lisa Withers performs her “Peas & Carrots” music for children and adults alike today at 3 p.m. at the library.

Tuesday

The Springfield Library is screening two family friendly flicks today. The Muppets, with Jason Segal and Amy Adams, will screen at 10:30 a.m. Martin Scorcese’s Hugo will play at 1:30 p.m.

Also at the library today, yoga Instructor and personal trainer Pamela Nixon will lead “chair yoga” classes.

Springfield’s Township Committee meets tonight at 7 p.m. at Town Hall.

Wednesday

The First Presbyterian Church of Springfield offers free yoga classes taught by Karen Frisch every Wednesday in March and April. Childcare will be provided.  

Springfield’s Board of Health holds its monthly meeting in town hall at 6:30 p.m. 

The Chisholm Center offers Sunlight of The Spirit Yoga, an uplifting, contemplative Yoga class starting at 10 a.m.

Thursday

Springfield collects recycling today. Curbside collections are scheduled rain or shine. Items must be placed at the curb the evening before pick-up after 6 p.m. 

Friday

Chabad of Union County hosts a “Caffeine for the Soul” discussion on the Torah's lessons for family life at Barnes & Noble on Route 22. 

Hwang Karate in Springfield offers “Mommy, Daddy, Nanny & Me Karate” on Fridays from 11-11:30 a.m.

GREAT! BEING A SNOWBIRD, STILL IN FLORIDA, WE LOOK FORWARD TO THE SPRINGFIELD PATCH FOR THE GOINGS ON IN OUR COMMUNITY. FIRST THING I CHECK FOR EVERY MORNING. WHEN WE GET BACK "HOME" IT'S THE SPRINGFIELD LEADER. KEEP IT UP...IT'S GREATLY APPRECIATED!
