Your Week Ahead: School Board Meetings and More...

A look ahead at the notable goings on in Springfield.

 

Monday

Music Together, a music and movement program for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and kindergarteners, performs at the Library

Springfield’s School Board meets at the Media Center at Jonathan Dayton High School. Public session starts at 7:30 p.m.

Get Isreali tough. USA Karate offers a free Krav Maga self-defense class for adults and Teens from 8-9 p.m.

Tuesday

Starting this week, the paintings of Hanna Keselman will be presented at the Donald B. Palmer Museum in the Springfield Free Public Library.

Wednesday

The First Presbyterian Church of Springfield offers free yoga classes taught by Karen Frisch every Wednesday in March and April. Childcare will be provided.  

Springfield’s Planning board holds its monthly meeting at town hall. Public session starts at 7:30 p.m. 

The Chisholm Center offers Sunlight of The Spirit Yoga, an uplifting, contemplative Yoga class starting at 10 a.m.

Thursday

Springfield resident group Water Everywhere meets tonight at the Sarah Bailey Center to discuss flood mitigation efforts. 

Friday

Springfield chools are closed for Spring Break. Classes will remain out of session throughout next week as well, reconvening on April 16. 

Today is Good Friday. Area churches are offering special events, including St. James the Apostle, which holds the living stations of the cross at 7 p.m. 

Chabad of Union County hosts a “Caffeine for the Soul” discussion on the Torah's lessons for family life at Barnes & Noble on Route 22. 

Hwang Karate in Springfield offers “Mommy, Daddy, Nanny & Me Karate” on Fridays from 11-11:30 a.m.
