oldest student business organization, held their National Leadership Conference (NLC) at the Hilton Anaheim, June 27-30. Conference participants from around the country and the world were in attendance for the NLC and the FBLA-PBL Institute for Leaders.

 

Elana Neher from Union County Vocational Technical Schools, Academy for Information Technology, received national recognition at the FBLA Awards of Excellence on June 30th.  Neher competed in the Microsoft Word Expert 2010 event and brought home a second place award. In the spring, Neher took a qualifying exam and was the only student in New Jersey to qualify for this event.  Neher was part of a group of eleven students from UCVTS FBLA Chapter that competed at the NLC.

 

"Elana scored a perfect 1000 in her Certiport Word Certification Test as a freshman, and represented our district and our state at the national level.  " said Janet Kneisel, UCVTS FBLA Chapter Advisor. 

 

The award was part of a comprehensive competitive events program sponsored by FBLA- PBL. Individuals, state teams, and local chapters were encouraged to compete in any of the

over 50 different events representing a wide range of activities and the business and

leadership development focus of FBLA-PBL. The winners of these highly competitive and

prestigious awards were selected from among FBLA-PBL's membership of 250,000 students and advisers and represent some of the best and brightest of today's youth.

 

Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3)

education association with a quarter million members and advisers in 12,000 chartered

middle school, high school, and college chapters worldwide. Its mission is to bring business
