Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County Volunteer At Local food Bank

Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County Keystone and Torch Club members recently volunteered at Community Food Bank of New Jersey in Hillside. They were given the responsibility of assembling food care packages for the Food Bank’s backpack program. The care packages are delivered to schools throughout the area and provide children in need with food for the weekend, according to nj.com.

Many children rely on school breakfast and lunch programs as their only meals throughout the day. These backpack care packages help provide children with meals while they are not in school. In total, the group assembled 960 care packages for local public school children, according to nj.com.
