Fall for Springfield Festival Today

The festival is back and bigger than ever.

The 2012 Fall for Springfield Festival is going to be huge.

In addition to the amazing sights and attractions Springfield residents have grown accustomed to, like vintage cars, live animals and circus-style performers, festival organizers have added contests and upped the cash prizes.

The organizers announced that the along with trophies, they are offering cash prizes for the car show, with the top three cars receiving $350, $150 and $100.

But you don’t need a cool car to enter a contest. People with never-ending hunger for franks are invited to put their passion to the test in the hot dog eating contest.

Historic Carriage rides can be had for only $5 per person.  Looking for a more intense challenge? There will be an 80 f00t obstacle course and a 20-foot plus long fire engine slide. Want something more genteel, perhaps involving some charming animals? Check out the petting zoo and pony rides.
