Letter to the Editor: Support Springfield H.O.P.E

This holiday season, local charity asks for your help.

To the parents of the Springfield Schools,

We hope this letter finds you and your family well during this joyous holiday season. The events of this year reinforce the need to think of others who are less fortunate than ourselves.

For the past four years, Springfield H.O.P.E, in conjunction with the Springfield Public Schools, Fire Department, Township, local  businesses and many religious institutions have been running it’s annual Toys for Springfield Kids Program.

From very humble beginnings, it has grown to a substantial collection. We would like this year to be as successful as years past, and then some…If you and your family wish to help our cause, please send your child to school with a New, Unwrapped toy to be deposited in one of our collection boxes.

There are also drop boxes outside of the school you may use as well. Please see the list below.

After distributing toys to Springfield Families the week of Dec. 17, any leftover toys will be redistributed to aid Hurricane Sandy victims in various shore towns.

Without the support of you and your neighbors, this charity would not be such a success.

Springfield H.O.P.E.’S support of needy individuals living within this town is completely supported by voluntary contributions.  While Springfield appears to be a comfortable place in which to live, residents can experience crises which force them to need assistance.

Should you find that your family is in need, feel free to contact Dr. Gary Hecht at 973-564-5885, who is one of the four trustees of Springfield H.O.P.E. All Springfield Public Schools
