Springfield Girl Scouts Seek Cookie Manager

Volunteer needed to spearhead cookie sale.

Without you, there might not be any girl scout cookies in Springfield next year.

The Springfield Girl Scouts need someone to volunteer to act as cookie manager. A letter from local GS Field Executive Nakita Witherspoon, printed below, outlines the need for and duties of the Girl Scout Cook Manager position.

If you're interested, please contact Witherspoon at nwitherspoon@gshnj.org or local troop leader Heather Hecking at h.hecking@gmail.com.

As you all know, the cookie season is gradually approaching the Girl Scout Cookie Program is the largest girl-led business and financial literacy program in the country. This unique leadership experience help girls develop five essential skills: goal setting, decision making, business ethnics, people skills and money management. The cookie sale program provides girls with far more than monetary success girls learn valuable life skills. The cookie program is also a good way for troop to earn money to offset some cost of activities. However, Springfield is currently without a Cookie Manager which will make the success of your program difficult to achieve. I am asking and hoping that someone steps up and resume the role as Cookie Manager to ensure the success of your Service Unit Cookie Program. I am well aware that this responsibility is to great for one person, therefore, the position responsibilities can be delegated to  two individuals.
