Springfield PBA Holds Family Fun Day Tomorrow

Township families are invited to enjoy fun activities at the Springfield pool.

Parents: Looking for something to do with the kids in these sweltering summer days? Springfield's police officers have the answer.

On Aug. 21st, PBA #76, the police union representing Springfield's officers, will host a day of family events and activities at the Springfield Town Pool.

Events include a Field Day-style competition for children 8-13 lasting all day, various shows and activities for younger kids, inflatable rides and games for all ages.

The kids aren't the only ones who will be getting in on the activities. There will be a friendly flag football game between the P.B.A. and a team from No Body Denied Fitness.  Finally, the night will wrap up with an outdoor movie night on a HUGE 34-foot screen.

Several national chains and local businesses are supporting the P.B.A. in the event, including Outback Steakhouse, who are providing lunch. There will also be a super 50/50 drawing to help the Springfield P.B.A. Civic Association cover costs for the event and the P.B.A.'s Spirit of '76 scholarship fund.

There is a $10 registration fee for kids participating in the Field Day events, which fee covers their team t-shirt and all meals during the event.  Lunch will be provided by Outback Steakhouse and we are working with local merchants to provide dinner now.  Registration forms are available at headquarters, the Springfield Recreation and online here at Patch.

The P.B.A. look forward to a big turnout and making this a community
event for years to come.
