Summer International Film Festival - Springfield Public Library

The Summer International Film Festival continues at the Springfield Free Public Library on Thursday, July 28, 2011. The library will screen Mao's Last Dancer (2009) at 12:00 and 6:45 p.m.  This is
the inspiring true story of Li Cunxin and his extraordinary journey from a poor upbringing in rural China to international stardom as a world-class ballet dancer, including his defection to the United States in 1981. This film runs for 117 minutes.  In Mandarin Chinese and English with English subtitles. Rated PG.

The Summer International Film Festival will take place on Thursday
afternoons and evenings until August 11th.  Future screenings include
The Way Home and The Concert.

Funding for the film program has been made possible in part by the NJ State Council on the Arts, Department of State, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, through a grant administered by the Union County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs and by the Friends of the Springfield Free Public Library.

Admission is free and refreshments are served.  Assistive listening devices are available upon request.  The Springfield Free Public Library is located at 66 Mountain Avenue, Springfield, NJ 07081.
