Springfield Summer Concert Tonight

The Brooklyn Bridge and the Happenings tonight at the Dayton front lawn.

UPDATE: The concert will be held in the Dayton auditorium because of weather concerns. 

Tonight, two chart-making musical acts bring their hits to Springfield for a free concert.

The Brooklyn Bridge, a doo-wop group composed of former members of the Rhythm Method and the Del-Satins, formed in the late ‘60s. The band’s hits include “the Worst That Could Happen, “Welcome Me Love,” “Blessed Is The Rain” and “Your Husband, My Wife.”

The Happenings share the bill. While the group is best known for their breakthrough hit “See you in September,” they also charted with songs like "I Got Rhythm" and a reimagining of the old Al Jolson chestnut "My Mammy."

The music starts at 7:30 p.m. on the front lawn of . Admission is free.
