Union County Brings "Finding Nemo" to Springfield

On Tuesday, Aug. 9, the county presents the animated feature film at Meisel Park.

This summer, Union County is inviting residents to spend some time under the water.

As part of its Family Fun and Flix series, the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the Department of Parks & Community Renewal will show “Finding Nemo” on Tuesday, August 9, at Meisel Park in Springfield.

The movie is free and will start at dusk. Families are encouraged to come early to the park to enjoy family-friendly, Nemo-themed activities that kick off at 7:30 p.m.

“Bring a blanket or beach chair to claim your spot on the lawn or save a seat in the bleachers – either way, the early birds are sure to like the preview activity before each movie," Freeholder Chairman Deborah Scanlon said in a release.

The final event of this summer’s Family Fun and Flix series will be on Friday, Aug. 19 at Echo Lake Park in Mountainside and features a classic car show by G-Wiz Auto Entertainment and the Garden State Chevelles and the animated adventure comedy, “Cars.”
