Monday

Springfield Schools are closed in honor of President’s Day, so if you see youngsters roaming the streets hold off from calling the truant officer.

Springfield’s Environmental Commission meets tonight at 8 p.m. at town hall. The public is welcome.

Tuesday

The Springfield Improvement District meets at 8:30 a.m. at the office of Emergency Management in the fire department headquarters.

The Recreation Committee meets at Sarah Bailey Center at 7 p.m.

Wednesday

The Chisholm Center offers Sunlight of The Spirit Yoga, an uplifting, contemplative Yoga class starting at 10 a.m.

The Springfield Recreation Center holds its weekly volleyball games at the Chisholm Center.

Sign up for Springfield's adult fast pitch softball league. The league is looking for teams and starts in May.

Thursday

Saloma Furlong, author of the memoir Why I Left the Amish speaks at the Library at 1 p.m. 

Temple Beth Israel holds its “Torah on Tap” microbrew club meeting at 7:45 p.m.

The Jonathan Dayton Boys Basketball team takes on Hoboken High at home. The hoops action starts at 7 p.m. 

Friday

The Library hosts the poetry café for teens. It’s an open mic event where sonneteers and poetry enthusiasts can read their own work or their favorite pieces.
