Leaves have changed colors and the temperature is dropping, but there's another way to tell that winter is coming to Springfield—checking on the status of seasonal stores.
This week, the Halloween-themed Rte. 22 store Spooky Town continued to sit mostly empty after workers removed the store's spooky wares earlier this month following Halloween.
West of Spooky Town and on the other side of the highway, workers prepared to bring in the Yuletide season by putting up signs for the Christmas Tree Shop. Representatives from the Christmas Tree Shop weren't able to give Patch an exact date when the store will be ready, but said that the doors would open soon.
