Starbucks Launches New Menu Featuring 'Authentic, Simple' Pastries

Starbucks locations throughout Northern New Jersey are offering new taste sensations starting this week. A new menu featuring French-style pastries from La Boulange Cafe and Bakery of San Francisco, talked about all summer, becomes reality with its official introduction, which will be Tuesday at a number of its retail stores.


Staffers say customers are in for a tasty treat.

"The new La Boulange launch offers customers a warm, delicious-tasting pastry that feels close to home with its wholesome ingredients," said Union/Springfield barista Chris Pereira.

Among the new offerings are Chocolate Meringue cookies (served warm with melty centers, they're like little lava cakes); classic butter and chocolate croissants; Carrot Cake with Pecan and Blueberry Yogurt with honey muffins; Berry Coffee Cake with Lemon Crumble, Lemon and Pumpkin Cream Cheese reduced-fat loaves and more.

And staffers say that those who loved tried-and-true Starbucks favorites have nothing to worry about: The chain's breakfast sandwiches, steel-cut oatmeal, sandwiches, salads, Bistro Boxes and cake pops will still be available.
