TD Pizza Serves Up Tasty Slices and More

Italian eatery opened at 222 Mountain Ave. in December.

For Springfield residents in the mood to sample some tempting Italian fare, TD Pizza may have just the thing.

The eatery, serving up slices, soups, salads, sandwiches, and a slew of specialties, opened at 222 Mountain Ave., formerly home to Bagel Chateau, in mid-December.

Still in its soft opening phase, manager Jimmy Stampoulos said business has been good despite it snowing three times during opening week. The restaurant, featuring ample seating and a flat screen television, began offering delivery Wednesday. Soon, Stampoulos said, customers will be able to place their orders online. A catering menu is also in the works.

Alongside traditional favorites, such as Margarita and Sicilian pizza, patrons will find unique and colorful pies including Buffalo Chicken Pizza, French Fry Pizza, and Italian Hot Dog Pizza, just to name a few.

Seafood dishes abound and specialities include: TD Salmon Cakes, pan seared salmon cakes with a lemon cream sauce, served over sautéed spinach and linguine and TD Shrimp, sauteed shrimp with peppers, onions, mushrooms, and a fresh tomato basil sauce, served over penne pasta. The dishes are priced at $15.95 and $16.95, respectively, and are served with a choice of soup or salad.

Classics such as Chicken and Veal Marsala, Saltimbocca and Parmesan are also on the menu. For a complete list of offerings, click here or view the attachment above. Stampoulos said menu items and specials are subject to change.

A patron enjoying two slices of Margarita pizza Wednesday afternoon described them as "delicious." His first time in the eatery, the satisfied customer said he would "definitely be back."

A grand opening celebration date has not been set yet, Stampoulos said. Check back with Patch for more information when a ribbon cutting is announced.

TD Pizza is open Monday-Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday-Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 9 p.m. Visit TD Pizza's website for more information.
