Victory Road Apartments Begin Construction

Complex will have five three story buildings containing 90 units.

Construction workers have been hard at work this month erecting the foundation of a new apartment complex on the intersection of Springfield Ave. and Victory Road.

The apartments, which were first proposed to Springfield's planning and zoning board in 2007, will comprise five three-story units on the 4.9-acre property. According to plans filed with Springfield's engineering department, three of the buildings will be 39 feet tall and two will be 43.4 feet in height.

The plans include 178 on-site parking spaces, including 68 garages. Design plans for the exterior include extensive landscaping, some walls and lamp posts.
