Walgreens Celebrates Grand Opening Saturday

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., refreshments will be served at the new pharmacy.

After breaking ground at 125 Morris Avenue in December, Walgreens will celebrate its grand opening Saturday with giveaways, prizes and free health testing.

The store, open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. features a drive-thru pharmacy. Flu shots are currently available and no appointments are necessary.

When it was announced that the the pharmacy would be built at the intersection of Morris and Maple Avenues, Patch readers had mixed opinions as it is situated a stone's throw from competitor CVS.

Lewis Cohn wrote, "Just what we need, two psudo department stores with overpriced merchandise across the street from each. Also, can't wait for the traffic nightmare to begin."

While John Gates responded, "Are you related to Doug and Wendy Whiner ? You big cry babies ! A big empty dirt lot was much better for the town. Why don't you move out so we can keep making positive change instead of what has been done in the past."

Refreshments will be served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in celebration of the grand opening and contests will be held, according to store employees.
