Don't Forget to Spring Forward!

Daylight Savings Time begins at 2 a.m. Sunday.

It's time to adjust our clocks again.

Be sure to turn your clocks forward one hour starting 2 a.m. Sunday. The weather's only been hinting at spring as of late, but this shift will mean longer days and more sunlight. That's always a promising sign that summer is only a few months away.

Daylight Savings Time is also a perfect reminder for residents to replace the batteries in their smoke detectors.

The New Jersey Office of Emergency Management is also encouraging residents to create an emergency kit and plan for the home and workplace at this time.

"In addition to the traditional time change safety checks, we encourage all New Jersey residents to devise a disaster plan and develop a disaster kit," said Colonel Rick Fuentes, Superintendent of the New Jersey State Police and Director of the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management. "For those who have already created a disaster plan and kit this will serve a reminder to check and update plans and kits."
