Hurricane preparedness...

  1. Hurricane Irene is expected to hit New Jersey this weekend. Click for tips on how to prepare. 
  2. Also, printing out might not be a bad idea: it's a couple of phone numbers that might come in handy in an emergency. 
  3. Check battery-powered equipment such as radios and flashlights. Buy extra batteries, and make sure your cell phone is fully charged.
  4. Do not attempt to drive on flooded roadways or where standing water is present. Fill your gas tank before the storm hits.
  5. If you were planning to head to New York City this weekend, the MTA has warned that it may cancel all service Saturday and Sunday if Hurricane Irene proves truly severe. For more information, visit www.mta.info.
