  1. Girls ages 10 to 13 are invited to the Springfield YMCA to tomorrow. Tweens can enjoy pizza, beverages and a movie in a safe environment among friends.
  2. Author Charles Butler comes to Barnes and Noble this weekend to The inspirational tale relates the true story of a New York fireman who overcame a debilitating accident to run the 2008 NYC Marathon.
  3. Veteran stand-up comic Richard Ramirez, who’s clocked in appearances in movies, TV shows and comedy staged throughout the country, takes the mic at Scotty’s Comedy Cove this weekend.
  4. Meatballs: more than just a Bill Murray movie about summer camp. They’re also an elusively delicious treat. Williams Sonoma in Short Hills offers , a class about proper meatball preparation this weekend. Styles range from Italian to exotic fare like Moroccan and Vietnamese. More info here.
