Lift Your Glasses Springfield! Stew Leonard's Opens Next Wednesday
After months of waiting and wondering -- doors open for famous wine merchant August 18 with special events and tastings
Stew Leonard's Wines of Springfield, located at Echo Plaza shopping center, is finally opening next week. The store will be offering more than 2000 varieties of wine from around the world and will also host regular in-store samplings and special events and seminars.
As part of the grand opening events, the store will host two wine tasting events. On Wednesday, August 18, Wines That Rock will offer tastings of their signature wines inspired by Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones and Woodstock. Customers will also have the chance to enter to win two guitars, including an autographed Keith Richards Epiphone G400 SG guitar and a Les Paul Jr. Wines That Rock Guitar.
The second event follows on Saturday, August 21. Along with an official ribbon-cutting, Cristina Mariani-May, family proprietor of Tuscany's Castello Banfi estate, will offer a tasting of some of her family's most admired wines. Customers will also have a chance to win special prizes including Castello Banfi glass decanters and signed copies of The Pursuit of Excellence a book about the winery's history.
