JCP&L's website advises that customers without power follow these steps:

Check your neighbors to see if their power is out, too, or if only your location is affected.

If only your lights are out:

  1. Check your circuit breakers or fuses.
  2. If no breaker is tripped or fuse is blown, the problem may be in the connection between our wires and your home. Call our toll-free, 24-hour Outage Reporting Line, 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877).
  3. Follow the other steps to take during an outage.

If your neighbors' lights are out, too:

  1. Call us. We may not know that your power is out unless you notify us. To help us respond most effectively, use our toll-free, 24-hour Outage Reporting Line, 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877).
  2. Follow the other steps to take during an outage.
