Power Outages in Springfield Reported After Severe Weather
JC&L site reflects almost 900 power outages in township.
UPDATE: Shortly after 1 p.m., JCP&L is reporting power restored to almost all customers.
Jersey Central Power & Light is reporting that 892 Springfield customers have reported power outages at 9 a.m.
In a message on their site, the power company attributes the loss of power "to severe weather that passed through our service territory."

In the same messsage, they said that crews are working on restoring the power to all affected areas as quickly as possible and cautioned customers to treat all downed wires as live and dangerous.
On Facebook, Springfield residents are reporting that Marion Ave, Warner Ave., Joanna Way and Battlehill road are without power. Springfield Township Committee member Ziad Shehady said in a Facebook message that an estimated restoration time has not yet been established.
