Springfield AAA to Hold September Food Drive
They will collect donations at the Rte. 22 location starting Sept. 1
Starting on Wednesday, Sept. 1, Springfield's AAA auto care center offers you the chance to help the less fortunate. Until September 30, AAA New Jersey's Springfield branch, located at 135 Route 22 East, will accept various non-perishable food items for donation to the Community Foodbank in Hillside.
Sought items include infant formulas and powdered milk, packaged meals, and canned fruits, vegetables, meats and fish.
The food donations will be distributed to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey in Hillside to help underprivileged families. The FoodBank, established in 1975 as part of the the Archdiocese of Newark, distributes over 23 million pounds of food and groceries a year to New Jersey non-profit programs.

Donations can be made during the AAA branch's business hours: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. The Car Care Center is open Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturday from 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. For more information, call (973) 467-2651.
