Springfielders Beat The Heat At Community Pool

As temperatures continued to soar, residents cooled off in town pool.

With temperatures in the upper 90s, Springfield residents attempted to cool off by visiting the community pool Wednesday afternoon.

From the kiddie pool to the lap lanes, swimmers young and old took to the water seeking relief.

Pool employees said attendance has been up since the heatwave began, with the largest crowd coming Sunday afternoon.

The snack bar, run by Christine Runfolo of Bella Luna catering, is also getting a boost from the sizzling heat.

Runfolo said sales are definitely up as swimmers are buying everything from full lunches and cold beverages to afternoon ice cream treats.

How are you staying cool amid the heat wave?
