Stew Leonard's Wine Store Entering The Fray?

Fabled Connecticut-based Merchant to Establish Springfield Presence

While we've been shopping at Trader Joe's and Whole Foods,  snapping up vintages at Wine Library and watching and wondering if Stop n Shop is ever going to be a reality on Millburn Avenue, Stew Leonard has been quietly making plans to open one of their famous wine stores in the Echo Plaza Shopping Center. It will join NBD, No Body Denied, in the rejuvenation of the center, located in between Mountain Avenue and Route 22 near the Mountainside border.

According to very well informed sources, the Stew Leonard Wine Store is taking over the liquor license from the current Echo Plaza merchant. And except for some minor quibbling about signage, it's a done deal. The store will offer a range of wines and spirits as well as having a small gourmet department focusing on cheese.
