Springfield Public Library invites you to enjoy Tom Doyle and Sandy Cory with a musical tribute to the great Les
Paul and Mary Ford.
Tom Doyle began his carrier performing with his sister in high school. From those early years he attempted
to mimic Les Paul and Chet Atkins while developing his own style. Tom had experimented with amplifiers, speaker cabinets, and tape recorders in order to re-create some
of the effects that Les Paul and Mary Ford had on their recordings. On one occasion Les would come to see him and his sister play and perform. That was the beginning of a friendship and collaboration with Les Paul that lasted over 45 years.
Tom now performs with talented fellow guitarist and singer, Sandy Cory. Their partnership slowly developed over the years into a fantastic duo. Since the
passing of Les Paul, “Tom & Sandy” were the opening act in the Les Paul room at the Iridium Club in NYC on Monday nights for The Les Paul Tribute.
In addition to performing, Tom is currently in the process of writing his memoirs - The ultimate biography of Les Paul.
