Maplewood Community Music Presents Annual Holiday Concerts - #1 Community Concert Band

As part of Dickens Village, three MCM ensembles will perform throughout the afternoon beginning at 1:00 p.m.

1:00 - 2:00 p.m.  The Maplewood Community Concert Band and the debut of the Silvertones

Directed by Tom McGee, the Maplewood Community Concert Band will perform pieces by J. S. Bach and Antonín Dvořák as well as seasonal selections and more.

This event will mark the public debut of MCM's newly formed flute choir, the Silvertones, who will perform select pieces throughout the concert.

The second and final performance of the afternoon will begin at 4:00 p.m.

4:00 - 5:00 p.m.  Swing Town, Maplewood's own community big band

Under the direction of Ben Williams, Swing Town will perform holiday classics featuring the band’s talented vocalists along with jazz standards, swinging rock tunes and modern big band favorites.

FREE! — Open to the public — Family-friendly

Feeling chilly as you enjoy Dickens Village? Hot beverages and a variety of delicious baked goods will be available for purchase. 100% of the proceeds will be used by MCM to further its mission to support local amateur musicians and cultural arts in the Maplewood area.

MCM's free concerts and music-enrichment programs are made possible with support from the Maplewood Department of Recreation, Parks & Cultural Affairs and through public donations.

MCM is a local non-profit organization dedicated to enriching and inspiring musicians and audiences of all ages in the Maplewood area.  MCM musicians, mostly hobbyists and from all walks of life, volunteer their time to provide free public concerts, concerts for veterans and seniors and performances at numerous community events. Partnering with local organizations including our schools, MCM presents and supports community and youth music enrichment programs.
