Maplewood Glee Club Holiday Concert

The Maplewood Glee Club is happy to announce its Winter Concert on Saturday, December 7 at 8:00 pm at the Prospect Presbyterian Church at 646 Prospect Street, Maplewood, NJ.

The Glee Club will perform holiday music, both contemporary and classical, arranged for men’s voices along with a set of songs from the 1940s.  Guest artists will also include “Unaccompanied Minors” the  a capella mixed chorus from Columbia H.S., and the “Backlogs”, a quartet of MIT graduates from the Boston area.

The Glee Club has performed in Maplewood for the past 65 years in semi-annual concerts as well as in performances at local civic events, nursing homes and schools. Under the musical direction of Greg Scime and accompanied by John Conte, the members have a love of song with a wide variety of musical styles including contemporary, spirituals, classical, and Broadway arranged for four part men’s voices. Glee Club members come from the Essex, Union and Morris counties.

The Glee Club is also proud to welcome the a capella vocal group from Columbia H.S.,“Unaccompanied Minors”, under the direction of Ms. Jamie Bunce.  Rounding out the concert will be a return engagement of the “Backlogs” a group of four men from the Boston area that sang in the renowned MIT a cappella group the "Logarhythms” when they were enrolled at MIT.  They formed a quartet in 2009 and started giving their own concerts of music in four part harmonies. Their entertaining performance was a big hit at the Glee Club’s Winter concert last year and we are happy to welcome them back.

Tickets are available at https://www.facebook.com/events/448092358642685/?ref=22 or at the door ($20 each, $15 for children and seniors).
