Movie and Dance Party for Youth with Special Needs - MLK Day

Looking
for something fun to do on MLK Day?  Summit
Community Programs and the Summit PAL will be hosting a TryCAN Movie and Dance
Party on January 20 from 2:30-4:00pm at the Summit Community Center, 100 Morris
Avenue.  Children with special needs, their siblings and families are
welcome to join us for a showing of the film Everyone’s Hero on the big screen
along with music and dancing before the movie.  Trained volunteer teen
Peer Mentors will be on hand to assist the kids and help them have a great
time.  RSVP or questions at summitcan@gmail.com
Special thanks to the Summit PAL for financial support for this event
which is offered as part of Summit’s 16th Annual Martin Luther King,
Jr. Day of Service.  The TryCAN Collaboration of communities offers an
array of recreation programs for youth with special needs, with teen volunteer
Peer Mentors assisting these youth in becoming successful in recreational
activities.  The Summit PAL offers numerous programs throughout the year
for the benefit of the youth of Summit to promote activities that foster
lifelong health, community spirit and a feeling of goodwill and awareness
between the children and police officers.
