The Springfield Environmental Commission and the Department of Public Works are again sponsoring Springfield's Annual Clean Community Day contest.

From the winning designs, one, possibly more, will be printed as Recycling Garbage Can stickers.  The stickers will be distributed to the students and available for Township residents, to aid in reminding everyone to recycle.  Some of the designs may also be used for posters to advertise Clean Communities Day which will be held on Sunday, April 21st from 12:00 until 4:00PM.  More details to follow.

The completed entries will be picked up on the morning of Monday, April 8th.  All designs will be displayed at the Springfield Public Library.  The winners for each grade category will be recognized at a Township Committee Meeting.  If you have any questions, please email Denise DeVone at ddevone@aol.com

Some of the entries may be used for Posters advertising Clean Community Day - Sunday, April 21st.

The winners for each grade category will be recognized at a Township Committee meeting at Town Hall, in April - hopefully, Tuesday, April 23rd, 7:30 PM. At that time, the winning design(s) will be announced.

The winners will receive a letter of congratulations and instructions from the Environmental Commission through their school, no phone calls will be made.

The list of winning designs and, possibly, honorable mentions will be distributed to each of the participating schools. At that time, we will be asking for a check of the spellings of the student’s names. The design(s) chosen for the Sticker will be listed separately after the Township Committee meeting - it is like the Oscars, a surprise.

All effort will be made to recognize the winning participants - however, please be advised mistakes do happen and that they are not intentional and will be corrected as promptly as possible.

Thank you for your time and diligence and continued participation.
