“Making a Mark” Black History Month Celebration - Kean University

Kean University is the venue for the United Way of Greater Union County's African American Leadership Initiative (AALI) "Making a Mark" Black History Month Celebration.  This event will take place on Friday, February 25, 2011 from 6:30pm till 9:00pm.  STEM Building, 1075 Morris Avenue, Union, NJ is the locations for this celebration.

  The achievements, leadership and contributions of African Americans in the community will be honored at this event.  Tickets purchased in advance are $25 and can be obtained on-line at brownpapertickets.com/event/153684.

There will be a film screening of the documentary film by Nicole Franklin and Jasmin Tiggett, Little Brother: Things Fall Apart, a film dedicated to giving Black boys a unique voice as well as a special presentation by The New Jersey Orators.  All proceeds from this evenings event will go towards programs that advance the well being of African Americans in Union County.  For more information, please contact Tenisha Malcolm at 908-353-7171x136 or tenisha.malcolm@uwguc.org.
