Sixth Annual Snacks for Our Seniors Collection at Thelma L. Sandmeier Elementary School

Collection boxes will be placed at the school to collect items for the "Sixth Annual Snacks for Our Seniors" community project, which allows our students to honor senior citizens, and for seniors to be entertained by our students. Snacks collected at the schools will be distributed by students to seniors on April 21 at 6:30pm at and April 22 at noon at Sarah Bailey Civic Center during their tea party. Items must be individually wrapped and then dropped in the box. Items required for the program are:

  • Coffee (regular and decaffeinated)
  • Tea (regular, decaffeinated, herbal)
  • Sugar (sweet and low, regular)
  • Crackers or cookies
  • Donuts, cakes and cupcakes
  • Small canned or fresh fruit
  • Items to be used for the raffles, such as gift cards, new books, picture frames, perfumes and more.

Seniors will also be entertained by the school's choir and band, and individual students. They will receive a goody bag and a free raffled gift at the end of the performances. Send an e-mail in case you want to donate freshly baked items to know a drop off time, or if your child wants to perform for this event or for more information. Donate generously!
