Camp Clover: A Bereavement Day Camp for Children and Adolescents (8/22/11-8/26/11, Flanders, NJ)

Camp Clover: A Free Bereavement Day Camp for Children and Adolescents in Flanders NJ, 8/22-8/26/11

Camp Clover is a week long free bereavement day camp designed for children and adolescents who have lost a loved one. Sponsored by Atlantic Home Care and Hospice, the Camp focuses on children, ages seven to 15, dealing with the loss of a parent or someone who was very close to them.

Free of charge, Camp Clover offers traditional fun summer camp activities, such as swimming, basketball, arts and crafts, combined with grief education and emotional support. Camp Clover provides a supportive environment where children can express their feelings and share their stories with peers. With the help of trained staff and volunteers, grieving children are encouraged to participate in activities that help develop healthy coping skills, increase confidence and self esteem. Surrounded by other children dealing with loss, campers begin to see that they are not alone.

In addition the camp provides bus transportation and nutritious lunch and snacks free of charge. For more information, call: 973-379-8440 ext. 8956.  Atlantic Home Care and Hospice has partnered with the JCC Metrowest Camp Deeny Riback to make this camp possible.
