Election Victory Letter

Springfield, thank you! I want to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude for giving me the opportunity to return to the Township Committee and serve for the benefit of our community.

Springfield, thank you!  I want to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude for giving me the opportunity to return to the Township Committee and serve for the benefit of our community.  I am grateful for the support of the voters who have entrusted me the welfare and future of Springfield.  It is a privilege and an honor that I take very seriously and I vow to work tirelessly for you.

I met many wonderful residents in the past few years and the experience is very humbling.  I care a great deal about Springfield and the residents who make our town such a terrific place to live!  Immediately after the election in November, I began diligently preparing myself so that I can roll up my sleeves and get to work right away after I take the Oath of Office in January.  I am committed to creating positive change in Springfield.  I want to hear from you.  I am interested in your issues both large and small, because these issues affect the quality of your life in our community.  Please feel free to contact me by sending an e-mail to ziad@shehady.us or calling me at 973-797-9423.  This will be helpful in planning for 2012 and setting short-term and long-term goals for the Township.  I am also making myself available if you would like to host coffee/tea for neighbors and have me over to speak on any issue(s) or listen to any of your concerns.

Your community needs you!  There are several boards and committees that impact quality of life on a regular basis. These government bodies have multiple positions but the vacancies are staggered so only a few positions are available every year.  Nevertheless, the Township Committee will consider residents for appointments as volunteers with a focus on moving Springfield forward for the betterment of our community.  I would like to be able to nominate qualified and motivated residents to serve for any vacancies that may be available.

Finally, I want to thank Mayor Hugh Keffer for his service to Springfield and for assisting with the transition process.  I am happy to have met him and served with him on the Township Committee for two years.  I wish him the best of luck and success.
