Fire Alarm Causes Dayton Evacuation

Students and staff exit building after fire alarm sounds unexpectedly

Shortly before noon on Thursday, Dec. 3, students and staff at Jonathan Dayton High School were evacuated to the school's soccer field after the fire alarm sounded without notice.  Two of the Fire Department's engine and ladder trucks were on scene, in addition to Police.

An all clear was given and students and staff reentered the building at around 12:20 pm.  Some smoke was still visible in the hall outside of the cooking room when students reentered the building.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.
